'FAROE' [SOLD]
'BOBBY' [SOLD]
Faroe is the son of Bobby. They were a commission so you see, I don't just paint cats!!
The weather has turned cold here but fluctuates so it warms up a little during the day when the sun is out then turns cold again in the evening! Roll on summer!!
I'm starting a new painting when I've finished the rest of the cat paintings for next years exhibition in London. This new painting is a harbour scene in Turkey and I'm looking forward to getting started on it. I enjoy painting buildings and it will be a change from cats! {Which, incedentally I love to bits!! I would be lost without my cat!!] See you soon.

Well, here is the, as yet, unfinished 2nd painting for next year's SOFA Exhibition at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in Waterloo, London. It needs more flowers and grasses and I'm still not happy with the eyes of the cat. I'll get there in the end though!!
The current SOFA Exhibition closes on the 21st Sept.

I'm working on my 2nd painting for next year's Society of Feline Artist's Annual Exhibition.
A photo of my progress so far will follow shortly.
This year's Exhibition is under way, it started yesterday, Thursday 22nd of August and continues for a month, ending on the 20th of September.
In the meantime here is Max. Resident cat (or used to be) at The Duchy Nurseries here in Cornwall.

Well, as you can see, I have obliterated the flowers altogether. They were too large in relation to the cats and they also detracted from the cats so they had to go!
I think this painting is more or less finished. I shall keep looking at it and decide if it needs something to replace the flowers but I don't think so.
Constructive criticism is always welcome on any of the paintings because, although I may not be able to alter a particular painting, it could help me in the future.
This painting measures 18" X 14" and is in Acrylics on Canvas Board.

I have tried to take a recent photo of the painting below but light kept sweeping across the image and after three different times of trying, I gave up. When the feelings of frustration have died down I will try again!! Basically, I have got rid of the awful white daisy on the right, added some more of the yellow flowers, a few tiny pink ones and some spatter. The gray cat is almost finished too, and the trees in the background look a bit more like 'trees in the background' now and less like unidentifiable marks!! Hope to get the imaging sorted soon.

Now that all four paintings are ready [apart from 2 which still need framing!] for the Exhibition in August, I am already preparing for next year so watch out for my first effort which should be ready in a couple of weeks or so. This past year I have not been well but all is ok now. All tests done and I'm now clear. It has knocked me sideways I don't mind admitting but I feel 100% now so let's hope this is carried through to my work for next year's Exhibition!!

Hi there folks! Nearly got scammed today. someone wanting one of my paintings turned out not to want it after all!! Watch out for Tracy Homberg! Says she is from California and soon to relocate to South Africa. Got a feeling this is all hogwash!!
On the work/painting front, I'm still plugging away at the cat painting. It's not going as well as I would like now but I shall not give up!! More news later!

Tomorrow, the 7th of February, I shall be going to my painting workshop again as usual. I'm working on paintings for the Society of Feline Artist's Annual Exhibition which is held in London every August/September for three weeks. If you love cats and paintings it's a must if you are in the area. I have a long way to travel to get to the Private View but it is worth the effort just to meet the other artists and see what they have been up to during the year. Talk to you again soon!
